Categories
Solo, Duet/Trio, Small Group (4-8 performers), Large Group (9-19 performers), Production (20 or more performers). The entry placement is determined by the number of individuals who actually perform that entry at the competition, regardless of the number of performers who originally applied.

All ages are as of January 1, 2012.
For Duet/Trios, Small Groups, Large Groups and Productions, the average ages determine the age range into which you may enter. Add the ages of all the dancers, and then divide by the number of dancers. When an average age ends in .5 or above, round DOWN. Duet/Trios, Groups, & Production that include dancers of different age divisions will compete no more than one age division younger than the oldest dancers, regardless of average age.
Entry Fees and Time Limits
Solo (3:00 max) $78
Duet/Trio (3:00 max) $45/person
Small Group (3:00 max) $32/person
Large Group (3:30 max) $32/person
Production (up to 6 mins) $25/person
1 point will be deducted for every 10 seconds over the time limit.
(Sorry, no exceptions!)
Master Classes $30/person ($40/person at the door)
ACCEPTANCE
Entries must be received 14 days before the competition date. All entries will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Please be advised, that entries are not considered received without full payment and a Participant List. Names and birth dates of all individuals must appear on the official Participant List or the entry cannot be accepted. A $35 service fee will automatically be assessed for any and all checks returned to Tap2You from the bank. A $10 late fee per entry will be added for entries after the 14th day. A $10 "Change Order" fee per change may be added for changes to any entry after the schedule is created. This includes late changes before and during the competition. All studio entries must be submitted together or a processing fee of $10 per entry will be assessed.
*Please note: There is a $25.00 registration fee for each studio.
MUSIC
Each studio must furnish its own music for each entry on a good quality individual CD. Each individual CD must contain only one routine, be properly labeled, cued and ready to start. Please turn in your CD for each specific routine to the Sound Engineer no later than 1 hour before your scheduled competition time. Please come prepared with a backup CD. You may also set up individual play lists on your iPod and hand that to the sound engineer.
Classifications
Pre-professional: Routine that includes dancers who train for four hours or more per week.
Recreational: Routine that includes only dancers who train for three hours or less per week. This is for participants who dance on a recreational basis, but want to have the competition experience.
Mature: Routine that includes performers who are 50 & over. This also includes any studio director, full time instructor and choreographer who are over 50 years old.
JUDGING & AWARDS
Tap2You guarantees that all dancers will be judged by well-qualified and experienced judges. All dancers, teachers, and parents agree that the method of judging shall be within the discretion of the directors of Tap2You. The decisions of the judges are final. Dancers may qualify to receive a Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze award, which will be presented at the end of the day.
SPECIAL AWARDS
Judges "Special" Awards: These recipients are hand picked from our judges for stand out, high-quality tap, which either shows great potential or is reminiscent of a professional tap dancer (past or present).
Choreography Awards: Specially engraved plaques for outstanding choreography will be awarded at each regional competition.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Dancers give their permission to the director(s) of Tap2You to use their photographs and/or videos in connection with advertising, TV, website and news coverage of our competitions. Neither Tap2You (directors and staff) nor the hosting facilities are responsible for personal injury or property loss to contestants or spectators.
Once registered, a studio confirmation email will be sent to all studios with more information.
Schedules may vary from location to location depending on the number of routines that are registered.
Contestants must check in with the Stage Manager and perform in scheduled order unless special permission is granted.
For safety reasons, no form of liquid, gel, aerosol, or glitter may be used that would affect the dancing surface. Dangerous props such as fire, swords, knives and live animals are prohibited. Backdrops, hanging pieces or special lights are also prohibited. Additionally, a dancer may not be physically placed on a prop/scenic piece more than 5 feet off the ground. Failure to follow these safety measures may result in the disqualification of the entry.
Good sportsmanship is expected from all contestants and teachers. Failure to display such conduct may result in the routine being disqualified.
No video or still cameras of any type are allowed in the auditorium or dressing room.
Any choreography, music or costume considered inappropriate for family viewing by our judges may be considered for disqualification.
